Maruhon is a medium-sized Japanese building products importer,
wholesaler and distributor, specializing in high-grade wood products such as
lumber,
flooring, moulding, wall panel and counter tops. We purchase actively for stock from
over 20 countries, and have sources in nearly 40. We specialize in niche
markets: the hard-to-find species, the most challenging specifications, and
customized packaging.
Our primary market is the Japanese residential construction market, but we sell
world-wide. We can supply any volumes from a container to a single board, and can
provide custom machining, finishing, grading, packaging and other services to our
customers. We work closely with architects and designers as well as
directly with homeowners. We have two showrooms, one at our
headquarters in Hamamatsu city and a second one in Tokyo. We have
a XXXm2 of covered warehouse storage which allows us to hold extensive

Maruhon is privately-owned. Founded by the Ito family over 100 years ago in the Japanese Edo period,
we were incorporated in our present form about 50 years ago. Our sales are approximately US$45 million/year, with a turnover of over 2500m3/month. Over 40 full-time Japanese employees service the domestic market and
a bilingual staff of many nationalities provide efficient cultural and language assistance to our overseas
